Welcome
to the Chicago Comedy Guide. Chicago is a great town with a rich tradition in comedy. The 'Wrigleyville' area isn't officially designated, but is anchored by the home of everyone's favorite Chicago Cubs. Wrigley Field draws people from around the world and is one of the oldest parks still in use today.
Surrounding the field are a variety of clubs, bars and Improv Olympic, one of the long-standing Chicago traditions in comedy. Focused on long-form improvisation, IO has been a launching pad to many careers in comedy. Del Close was the creative driving force for IO until his passing, and his book Truth in Comedy is considered by many to be the Bible, if not the Kama Sutra, of long form improvisational comedy.
While a big place for people to go to enjoy a safe night on the town, partaking in any of the local bars, it is also a big area for comedy.
The people are fun-loving and vibrant. Not only do you have locations within Chicago itself, but in the surrounding areas as well with their own rich history of comedy.
Beyond regular
performances, they also provide corporate and private
event entertainment tailored to your needs.
