Welcome
to the Chicago Comedy Guide. Chicago is a great town with a rich tradition in comedy. The 'Downtown' area of Chicago has a lot going for it. With the Loop being the hub for most commerce and the arts, it a the place to be. Not only do you have many of the major museums in the area, but it is home to several places of higher learning. Both Roosevelt and Columbia have several of the buildings in the area.
Major theatres have sprung up around what is being structured a theatre district, and you can simply walk along and go from venue to venue. These tend to be at a higher level and the comedy played here tends to be of the musical variety.
Christmas time has special meaning downtown in Chicago with the creation of the ice skating rink and people walking up and down State Street enjoying themselves. Oddly, this has also sprung up some unusual acts that occur right in the streets as well, with hopeful actors honing their craft right in front of your eyes (not always legally).
Around the Loop (which is why we called this page downtown and not the Loop) are several prominent hotels and the Merchandise Mart, all of which are prospective venues for corporate events and private shows of all kinds. Corporations will hire murder mystery dinners, game shows or comedy nights to entertain their functions.
The people are fun-loving and vibrant. Not only do you have locations within Chicago itself, but in the surrounding areas as well with their own rich history of comedy.
Beyond regular
performances, they also provide corporate and private
event entertainment tailored to your needs.
